Sometimes it gets to the point where factory sheet metal no longer meets the needs of the mounting or access requirements of a race car. Be it mounting of all of the coolers and heat exchangers required in the stresses of racing, huge downforce from customs splitters and wings, assisting space for engine conversions or simply for easier access to mechanical components for maintenance.
Front end modifications start from replacing structural components built into a monocoque, followed by adding removeable tubes used for mounting coolers, bonnet pins, aero components.
It’s important to have the end in mind when laying out the tubular structures to take into account all of the wiring and plumbing requirements, as well as the categories the car is being campaigned in, to determine the loads or potential impacts that can occur to prevent major damage to the base structure of the chassis and expensive mechanical components during minor incidents. Each structure is custom designed to meet the car and racers needs to ensure optimal weight to strength ratio.
Sometimes a previous incident with a rogue concrete wall is the trigger to rebuild the front end with a simpler more maintainable tubular front clip, and we can handle that here too. We will also pull the chassis straight prior to rebuiding the front of the car utilising the latest is chassis repair technolgy if required
